  • Event: Learn to Windsurf Clinic
  • Date: Saturday August 23, 2008
  • Time: 10am-1pm
  • Bob Wentz Park at Windy Point on Lake Travis
  • Description: Learn to Windsurf with some of the Best Instructors.

    Clinics open to all. Contact us if under 13 years of age.

    Cost
    - Suggested minimum donation of $30 to helps us maintain our beginner fleet.

  • Event: Bird Island Trips
  • Dates: Sep 27,28 (Sat,Sun), Oct 18,19 (Sat,Sun), 2008
  • Bird Island Basin, Corpus Christi
  • Description: Join other club members on a trip to Bird Island Basin for some great sailing.


    • Bring your own equipment or rent great stuff from Worldwinds Windsurfing. Worldwinds caters to all levels of windsurfers with excellent on-the-water coaching and a huge rental fleet.

    Weekly Fun Windsurf Session and Race

  • Date: Thursday afternoons during the warm season. (Probably starting the 1st or 2nd week in June, going through August)
  • Time: afternoon/evenings, usually starting around 5:30pm - check with Mike Schultz
  • Location: Windy Point on the boat ramp side.
  • Description: During the warm season, the club has an informal get together on Thursday afternoons to practice windsurfing skills, racing and have fun. Sometimes Mike brings the trailer with the practice boards for folks to use. Come out even if you don't have equipment. Remember to thank Mike for bringing out the boards (and help put them up). Sign up on the austinwindsurf-practice mailing list for late breaking info on the scene. Mike will email the list to let folks know he is coming or not.Check the main page for a link to sign-up for the list.
  • This year we'll be identifying several race courses around our local permanent buoys and holding zero wind minimum races around them. Come on out and hone your skills so you can compete with confidence in "The Lake Travis Invitational". A handicapping system and multiple fleets will be used to make the races competitive for all. Details TBA.
